Nationals Round-up

Congratulations to all DPSS crews who competed in recent Nationals in other states.

53rd SABOT Nationals in Hobart, Tas

DPSS Sabot sailors sailed well at recent 53rd National Sabot Championships held in Hobart at the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania.

Luke Richmond came a credible 3rd in the Sabot 1-up in a fleet of over 50 boats. Sailors from DPSS came away with great results in the top 20:

  • 3rd Luke Richmond
  • 8th Brayden Daunt
  • 13th Angus Sherring
  • 16th Max Robba
  • 17th Patrick Lambourne

Max and Edwin Yoshida won the Sabot 2-ups. These boys will be ones to watch in the coming years.

2016-17 13 ft Skiff National Titles at Lake Illawarra, NSW

DPSS 13ft sailors sailed well at recent Skiff nationals held at Illawarra Yacht Club, NSW.

Mighty Mite sailed by Carlton Smith and Keith Jones won the National Championships sailing consistently in mixed conditions on the tricky lake. Congratulations to Mighy Mite and all the 13ft skiff sailors for sailing well and playing fair.

2016-17 16 ft Skiff National Titles at Lake Illawarra, NSW

DPSS 16ft sailors sailed well at recent Skiff nationals held at Illawarra Yacht Club, NSW.

RWRetail sailed by Josh Franklin, Daniel Smith and Patrick Hanlon battled tricky conditions to gain a credible 5th overall. Fire Stopping Qld sailed by Trevor Koreman, Daniel Jack and Frazer Smith, gained a 10th place. Congratulations to all DPSS crews who sailed at the Nationals against a tough fleet of competitors in a range of shifty breezes.

Please check this space on Sundays after 11am if the weather is inclement. A notice to cancel or postpone racing will be announced here.

2016-17 sailing at DPSS

 Racing is open to off-the-beach dinghies and skiffs. Competitors must hold a Australian Sailing Number and his/her boat must have current and valid insurance. After three races with our club, we ask that you become a member. Boats sailing from DPSS must be registered at DPSS.
