RWRetail wins Aust 16ft Skiff Sprints at Belmont Skiff Club

DPSS 16ft Skiff RWRetail team of Josh Franklin, Daniel Smith and Patrick Hanlon won the coveted annual Australian 16ft Skiff Sprint Championships at Belmont Skiff Club 6 February 2016. This is the first time a Queensland skiff has won the titles and the first time since the 1980s that a crew has won all three races in the finals.

The Sprint series comprises round-robyn type racing where boats compete in rounds being eliminated before the semi-finals then the finals. Four skiffs and their crews travelled from Brisbane to compete in the weekend racing.

Congratulations to the RWRetail team for outstanding sailing. Belmont Skiff Club have kindly allowed the trophy to come to Darling Point Sailing Squadron for a while. This is the first time the trophy has left the club.
