The Tackers 1 - Having Fun course is aimed at kids approximately 6 to 12 years old as a fun, safe and affordable way to get into sailing. Kids sail in pairs in small boats. It’s a great way to meet new friends and sail with others in their group. Your child should be able to swim 50 metres.
Our Australian Sailing qualified instructors follow a carefully constructed syllabus to gradually introduce kids to the boats and build their confidence through fun activities and games.
We provide the boats, lifejackets, qualified instructors. Your child needs sun protection - a hat, sunscreen, long-sleeved shirt. Please have them wear/bring spare clothes, a towel, a water bottle, closed-in non-slip shoes that can get wet and a big smile!
Numbers for each course are strictly limited and enrolments are accepted on the basis of first to enrol and pay through the online registration and payment system. We offer a small discount when registering more than one child from the same immediate family. Please email dpssdsc@gmail.com for more information on registering more than one child.
Please register your child's name, not yours. If your child does not have an active Australian Sailing number, you will need to click the Sign up tab on the first page of registration.
